Easy Lettuce Salad Recipe

By 9:56 AM

Just a little background on this Lettuce Salad Recipe. One night, I was badly craving for taco salad but found out that I ran out of taco seasoning.

Bummer.

I couldn't go out and buy some because it was already late in the evening but I also wasn't willing to give up on my salad that night. The result? Easy Lettuce Salad Recipe.

I just decided to skip the meat and the cooking and came up with a salad using the ingredients I had at home and I just fell in love with it.

I cannot count the number of times I've made this at home and believe me, even my picky-eaters at home have no problem digging into this one!

To make it fun for the entire family, I always create a make-your-own salad station on the table. What I do is that I put the lettuce in a bowl, place the tomato and onion salsa on a serving dish, place another plate for the chips and leave the grater on the table for the cheese. I then let the kids loose and leave it up to them to add how much or how little of each ingredient they want on their salad. I just make sure they leave some for me!

Easy peasy!

Ingredients

  • Lettuce, torn into bite sized pieces
  • Chopped Tomatoes
  • Chopped Onions
  • Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • Thousand Island Dressing
  • Cheese-Flavored Potato Chips

Instructions

  • Combine tomatoes and onions in a serving dish and mix well
  • Place lettuce on a plate, top with tomato and onion salsa
  • Add grated cheese on top
  • Squeeze thousand island dressing onto the salad
  • Top with potato chips
