Slow Cooked Pork BBQ Ribs Recipe

By 1:57 PM

I've been meaning to post this Slow Cooked Pork BBQ Ribs Recipe since forever because I am very proud of it and OMG it tastes so good but I keep forgetting. Ooopps! Well, they say the best ones are worth the wait, right? ;)

If you follow me on Pinterest, I pin a lot of BBQ Ribs recipes but the problem is that most recipes call for an oven, a slow cooker or a dutch oven. I do not have any of those! I could just grill them outside but what I wanted was to find a way to cook my BBQ on my gas stove. Nothing stops a determined cook, right?
Slow Cooked Prok BBQ Ribs

The first time I cooked this was in a small ceramic dish and it turned out well, then I tried cooking it in a non-stick medium sized (thick) sauce pan and that went well too! I have cooked this several times and it has always been a hit with my family. Even my mother who is the real cook, has been asking me for the recipe.

Okay enough talking and let's get down to business.

First and only tip: Slow cook over super low fire for that fall-off-the-bones and melts-in-your-mouth goodness.

  • 1 1/2 kg Pork Ribs
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 cup water

  • Mix all dry ingredients
  • Rub mixed dry ingredients on your pork ribs
  • Place them in your ceramic cooking dish or non-stick medium sized pan
  • Pour water and BBQ sauce over your ribs
  • Cook over super low fire for an hour and a half to two hours or until meat is tender.
  • Check once in a while to make sure sauce doesn't dry up, add a bit of water if necessary
  • Serve with rice or potatoes

That's it! easy peasy!
